Procedures for renewing or extending a passport, or issuing a travel document for a domestic worker, vary depending on the worker’s nationality, as follows:
1- Filipino domestic worker
Since there is a Philippine embassy in Jordan, the worker can request passport renewal through her country’s embassy in cooperation with Asrar Al-Tamayyuz Recruitment Company.
Passport renewal takes up to 45 days.
The sponsor can also obtain a passport extension for the purpose of issuing a work permit or arranging travel, and this procedure takes 3 days, provided that a passport renewal request has been submitted.
2- Ethiopian domestic worker
The Ethiopian consulate has granted Asrar Al-Tamayyuz Recruitment Company authorization to assist with passport renewal procedures for this nationality, where the renewal request is submitted through the company’s office.
The issuance of the passport takes no less than one month and up to 5 months, noting that most passports renewed through us have not exceeded 30 days.
3- Ghanaian domestic worker
Passports for this nationality are renewed through the Association of Recruitment Offices, after submitting an official request and completing the required form via Asrar Al-Tamayyuz Recruitment Company.
4- Bangladeshi domestic worker
Since there is a Bangladeshi embassy in Jordan, the worker can request passport renewal through her country’s embassy in cooperation with Asrar Al-Tamayyuz Recruitment Company.
Passport renewal takes up to 45 days, and the sponsor can also obtain a passport extension for the purpose of issuing a work permit or arranging travel, which takes 3 days, provided that a renewal request has been submitted.
As for Ugandan, Nepali, and Sri Lankan nationalities, we currently do not have precise information regarding passport renewal procedures, and the information will be provided as soon as it becomes available.
